What A Year

Exactly one year ago today I put letters to my birth parents in the mail.

Exactly one year ago today I surrendered myself to fate.

Exactly one year ago today my life would change forever.

Exactly one year ago today I had no clue how it would go.

Exactly one year ago, there was no turning back.

It didn’t matter.  

I had steeled myself for every eventuality, or at least I had convinced myself that I had.

I was ready to finally get answers about my past, my birth, my biological family.

No nerves.

No anxiety.

Simply did what I had to do.

And what a year it turned out to be!
